Local Cycling Groups


There are a number of different local cycling groups, catering for those who just want a short pootle to a pub or cafe, as well those wanting longer rides or training for sportives.

 Cycle Bognor

Cycle Bognor support and  promote leisure cycling  in the Bognor Regis area.  They have a ride every Saturday as well as rides on other days, including summer evenings.  Their rides are generally 10-25 miles at a gentle pace.  The rides are free and open to all.  E-bikes welcome.  Details of their rides can be found on their Facebook page.

 

Breeze Network - Sussex & South Downs

 Free local bike rides for women in East and West Sussex, led by trained and insured female ride leaders.  Details of rides are shown on their Facebook page and can be searched for on the Lets Ride website.

A friendly local club for recreational riders of different levels and wide interests.  They run a number of rides during the week and at weekends.  More information can be found on their website.

 Bognor Regis  & Chichester CTC

Bognor Regis & Chichester CTC.
A Cycling UK affiliate group covering the local area.  There's a ride every Sunday morning starting from Chichester.  Whilst they're aimed  at more experienced riders with rides generally between 25-60 miles in distance, they are run at a friendly, social pace with regular stops for coffee, cake & lunch.  E-bikes welcome.  Their Facebook page has details for the booking form which lists the rides.

 Chichester City Riders

Another road cycling club, mainly suitable for more experienced road cyclists.  Their main ride is on a Sunday morning with groups riding at different speeds depending upon ability.  They also run evening rides.  More information can be found on their website.

 Southdown Velo

This club runs regular rides normally from Chichester, generally on a Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, for  more experienced road cyclists.  On the last Saturday of every month, they run a Gateway ride aimed at new riders.  More information can be found on their website.

 U3A

U3A are a national organisation formed of hundreds of local groups offering a wide range of leisure activities aimed at those either retired or working part-time.  Both the Bognor & Chichester sections have several cycling groups.  Click on the links for more details:  Bognor Cycling and Chichester Cycling.

 FLAB Social Rides West Sussex

A social ride group led by an ambassador for Fat Lad at the Back inclusive cycle brand - running from Chichester on a Sunday.  All rides are at the pace of the slowest rider and no-one is left behind.  More information can be found on their Facebook page.

A Cycling UK affiliate group that runs social rides on Tuesdays and Sundays, with starts usually alternating between  Shoreham and Littlehampton.  E-bikes welcome. All rides include at least one cake & coffee stop.  Their website has details of their rides or view their Facebook page.
